Underneath the impressive arches at Lockwood Park

Fylde visit the impressively sited Lockwood Park ground to take on Huddersfield on Saturday (ko 15.00). This is a meeting of the 4th & 3rd placed clubs in National Two in what is likely to be a very tight contest as the previous game was between them in December which ended in a 20-20 draw.

Cultural visits with EF Educational Tours

Ashmolean Museum and Anne Hathaway’s Cottage

This week has begun with visits to two of Oxford’s most famous cultural locations – The Ashmolean Museum in the centre of Oxford and Anne Hathway’s beautiful cottage in Stratford on Avon.

The Ashmolean is the University of Oxford’s museum of art and archaeology, founded in 1683. Our world famous collections range from Egyptian mummies to contemporary art, telling human stories across cultures and across time.

Anne Hathaway’s Cottage – the picture perfect home of Shakespeare’s bride-to-be.

Fylde Rugby in the Roses battle against Wharfedale at their scenic Threshfield ground.

To Threshfield on a sunny Saturday with Fylde Rugby.

Today we’ve headed over to the Threshfield ground of Wharfedale Rugby with Fylde Rugby. We’ve taken a team coach AND a supporters coach for this famous annual Roses battle with the Yorkshire team.

“One of the delights in Fylde’s return to National Two (North) this season is the prospect of the trip to Threshfield, the most beautiful ground in England, to take on old friends and rivals Wharfedale (ko 15.00). ‘Prospect’ is an appropriate term as the reality has often proven rather different for the Lancastrians. With the home team playing downhill towards the River Wharfe and the noisy and passionate Green Machine’s supporters urging them on, Fylde’s collective nerve has often faltered. But this is just about the favourite away trip for Fylde’s supporters and it’s expected that a good number will make the 65 mile journey to the White Rose country.”

Kirkham Rubgy 1st Elevens at Fettes College

Kirkham Rubgy 1st Elevens at Fettes College

We’re lucky enough to visit some amazing places when carrying our clients around!

Yesterday we took Kirkham Grammar School 1st Elevens up to Edinburgh for a match against Fettes College. Fettes’ main building was designed by architect David Bryce (built 1863-9) blends the design of a Loire château with elements of the 19th century Scottish Baronial. According to the school’s website, the combination of styles and the site of the building led a modern architectural expert to praise it as “undeniably one of Scotland’s greatest buildings”.
